What We Do

Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer Nick Lowery knows about targets - he was the most accurate kicker in NFL History. He worked for three US Presidents in the White House during his NFL Career and was the first pro athlete with a Masters and Fellowship from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. He is the winner of the most prestigious humanitarian award an NFL player can receive, The Byron Whizzer White Award. A lot of speakers can talk a good game - Nick lived it for 18+ Hall of Fame caliber years in the NFL.


  • Harvard MPA, Fellowship in Conflict Resolution, Leadership and Youth Development (Dartmouth BA)

  • Legislative Aide for U.S. Senators John H Chafee (R.I.), the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, Senator Tom Eagleton (Mo.), and Chairman of the U.S. House Rules Committee

  • Helped Launch Americorps  for Clinton (see Sports Illustrated  Article) as part of his White House Office of National Service Staff

  • Helped Launch the Points of Light Foundation for President HW Bush as part of his White House Office of National Service Staff

  • Chairman of the National Fund for Excellence in American Education, and testified twice in CSPAN before US Senate on Problems facing Native Youth (you can see this on the Downloads page at www.headgamesradio.com)

  • Chaired 1997 Kansas City America's Promise Summit that was recognized as best America's PromiseSummit by General Colin Powell
  • Dropout Prevention Champion for State of Kansas 2009-2010
  • Founded Native Vision  - on  Oprah  as best program for Native Youth (www.nativevision.org) now in its 20th year (just received a $ 1 million Grant for next 5 years)
  • Founded Adult Role Models for Youth or"ARMY" with Kansas City Mayor Dick Berkley which after 6 years became Youthfriends,  producing 5000 volunteers working with over 30,000 at-risk youth in Kansas City Region
  • Highest NFL Players Award for Humanitarian work, the Byron Whizzer White Award
  • US Jaycee's Ten Outstanding Young Americans Award  (won by JFK and Elvis)
  • Finalist 4 times for NFL Man of the Year Award
  • National United Cerebral Palsy  Award for his Kick with Nick  program for UCP which raised over $1 Million for UCPand was longest NFL Player program ever
